A Quick Guide To Climate Change
"Look deep into nature and then you will understand everything better - Albert Einstein"
This quote tells us that nature gives us answers to all our questions. Let us find some of the answers to the questions related to the environmental crisis currently happening around the world such as the Australian bushfires, Unseasonal monsoons, Amazon rainforest wildfires, and different other problems suggesting that nature is sending some warning signals.
What is Climate Change?
Climate change, in simple words, is a long term abnormal change in the Earth's climate which results in variations in normal weather conditions giving rise to different environmental issues.
Why is it happening? : The Causes
We, the humans of this planet, are responsible for creating such situations by overusing the resources provided for us by nature and exploiting it to such a level that it has resulted in numerous catastrophic events. Some of the basic causes are:
Industrial Revolution by humans has led to fossil - fuel combustion, deforestation, pollution, and urbanization leading to the production of excessive greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse
gases (GHGs) in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor, absorb infrared radiation emitted from Earth's surface and reradiate it
back, thus contributing to the greenhouse effect causing global warming.
How is it happening? : The Effects
The seasonal cycles are changing continuously and it is seen everywhere around the globe, to which people adjust their clothing, outdoor activities, and thermostats.
Even a small change in the ecosystem results in major changes in the climate. Glaciers have started melting and sea level is increasing with greater speed over the years. Arctic and Antarctica already show signs of climate change. This climate change is not only affecting the humans but also the flora and fauna on our planet.
We can see those effects of the blazing fires in Australia which has killed millions of animals. Climate change has lead to an increase in the scope and impact of natural disasters such as fires and floods over the years.
What to do on a personal level and as a community? : The Solutions
Here are some of the suggestions.
Accept that climate is changing and stand together united to deal with this issue. It is time to act now.
Conserve Energy - Switch off the main switch of all electricals in the house as well as the workplace. Unplug your devices that are not in use such as computers, televisions, etc.
Save Water - Rainwater harvesting is one of the best ways to start water conservation on a small scale in societies. On a personal level, one should not keep the taps running. Reuse the water used for washing fruits, vegetables, cooking pasta or rice for watering plants.
Tip: Do not add salt in water used for watering plants.
Reduce Consumerism - Consume less and thus waste less.
Use renewable resources for a better tomorrow. Don't use plastic bags. Try to keep your environment clean and free of all waste plastics.
Be a responsible human being of this planet and start taking the first step, if you have not done yet. DO YOUR BIT!!!

Love it!!
